Overview of Unit
This website provides a five day unit plan of how to incorporate teaching about poverty to a fifth grade class. The purpose of these lessons and activities are to get students aware of what the world looks like beyond their home towns. These teachings use values and futures thinking in raising awareness and thinking critically about what can be done to help reverse the affects of poverty. The lessons will go from basics to more in depth concepts and student constructed solutions.
